Key Message

Like honey that is sweet at both center and edge, the Buddha's teaching is good from beginning to end. Trust it fully and the Way opens.

The Buddha says: those who study the Buddha-Way should believe and follow all that the Buddha has said.

The Buddha says: those who study the Buddha-Way should believe and follow all that the Buddha has said. Just as when eating honey, both the center and the edges are sweet, so too is the Buddha's teaching — its meaning is entirely good. Those who follow it will surely attain the Way. The honey analogy here expresses that trust in the teaching as a whole — from beginning to end — is the condition for opening the Way.
