Key Message

The moment truth's light arrives, the darkness of ignorance dissolves. Light and darkness cannot coexist.

Seeing the Way is like carrying a torch into a dark room.

Seeing the Way is like carrying a torch into a dark room. The moment the torch enters, the darkness vanishes and only brightness remains. Likewise, when one studies the Way and sees the truth (諦), ignorance (無明) instantly dissolves and wisdom's brightness abides permanently. Darkness cannot withstand light; ignorance cannot endure in the presence of wisdom. This teaching simultaneously captures both the instantaneous and the permanent nature of awakening.
