True bodhisattva conduct does not lie in some special practice. Living everyday life with the upright, genuine direct mind (直心) is itself the greatest place of practice.

This chapter emphasizes that the inner foundation of bodhisattva conduct lies precisely in the upright and truthful mind. Not grand practice, but the honest, non-flattering, upright mind in everyday life — this itself is the bodhisattva's place of practice.
