They shall therefore keep my charge, lest they bear sin for it and die thereby when they profane it: I am the LORD who sanctifies them.

Treating holy ministry carelessly is equivalent to treating God himself carelessly.

The expression 'lest they bear sin' warns against an attitude of treating regulations casually or dismissively.

Everything offered to God must always be the best; this reflects our estimation of God's value.

Voluntary offerings to God must be unblemished.

The ultimate basis and authority for all of God's commandments is God himself.
