Bezalel made the ark of acacia wood. Two cubits and a half was its length, a cubit and a half its breadth, and a cubit and a half its height.

The mercy seat (kapporet) is the lid covering the ark, the place where the high priest sprinkles blood on the Day of Atonement.

The menorah (seven-branched lampstand) is the source of light in the Holy Place—a beautiful work of art hammered from pure gold.
