Then Moses went up from the plains of Moab to Mount Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, which is opposite Jericho. And the LORD showed him all the land, Gilead as far as Dan,

Even when an individual cannot see the completion of the promise, God's promise is always fulfilled.

God personally confirms to Moses that this is the land promised to the ancestors.

So Moses the servant of the LORD died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the LORD,

Moses's life and death, from beginning to end, were within God's will; 'servant of the LORD' is his supreme honor.

and he buried him in the valley in the land of Moab opposite Beth-peor; but no one knows the place of his burial to this day.

God cares for his greatest servants up to their very last moment, attending to them in special ways.

Moses's tomb is unknown.

Moses was 120 years old when he died. His eye was undimmed, and his vigor was unabated.

Those who fully fulfill God's mission will be supplied with the necessary strength until the completion of their days.

Moses, whose eyes were undimmed and vigor unabated at 120 years of age, died not by natural decay but at God's time according to God's word.

And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands on him. So the people of Israel obeyed him and did as the LORD had commanded Moses.

True succession of leadership is accomplished not by human organization but by the wisdom and power given by the Spirit of God.

Through the laying on of hands, leadership is officially transferred.

And there has not arisen a prophet since in Israel like Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face,

Moses was the greatest prophet in Israel's history, but the Messiah Jesus Christ, whom Moses himself prophesied, is greater than Moses.

This is the final declaration of Moses's unparalleled position.

and for all the mighty power and all the great deeds of terror that Moses did in the sight of all Israel.

The life of Moses, God's servant, was filled with God's power and miracles, and it foreshadows the greater Savior to come.

This is the final verse of Deuteronomy and of the entire Pentateuch.
