The heart of faith formation is a life modeled before others; the life that imitates Christ is the greatest teaching.

Verses 10:33–11:1 must be understood together. Paul's call to imitate him is not a self-centered assertion of authority, but rather an invitation for the Corinthians to do as Paul does in imitating Christ. There is a chain of imitation: Christ → Paul → the Corinthian believers.

The Lord's Supper was instituted by the Lord himself; it is a communal act that commemorates and proclaims his death.
