Oh come, let us sing to the LORD; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!

Coming together in joy to God who is the rock of our salvation is the beginning of worship.

This is an invitation to communal worship.

This is an invitation to communal worship. 'Oh come (lechu)' — let us come together. An invitation to approach the LORD not alone but as a community. 'The rock of our salvation (tsur yeshu'enu)' — the firm and unchanging one who saves us. Worship begins with a joyful shout.

For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods.

The LORD is a great King above all gods — this supremacy is the basis for worship.

This is the basis for praise.

Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the LORD, our Maker!

Key Message

The posture that creatures must take before their Creator is humbly kneeling and worshiping.

For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. Today, if you hear his voice,

We are the sheep of God's pasture, and there is an urgency to hear his voice today.

God and our relationship are depicted with the image of shepherd and sheep.

do not harden your hearts, as at Meribah, as on the day at Massah in the wilderness,

Not hardening the heart when there is an opportunity to hear God's voice is the core of faith.

This is a warning.
