Key Message

Even the experience of salvation can cause faith to waver before present deprivation, showing that faith must be rooted in God's faithfulness rather than in experience.

Less than a month after crossing the Red Sea, all of Israel grumbles.

Less than a month after crossing the Red Sea, all of Israel grumbles. The expression 'whole congregation' emphasizes that this grumbling belongs not to individuals but to the entire community. On the sixth day they are to gather double, because on the seventh day (Sabbath) no manna will fall.

31

Now the house of Israel called its name manna. It was like coriander seed, white, and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey.

Key Message

God's provision continued unchanged daily for 40 years, and this is vivid evidence of God's faithfulness.
